Rebranding in Indian Startup Logos

As we know the re branding in the industry is something that we need to do whether to convey new ideology of the business or to complete with the existing market or as simple as just for marketing. But it is needed anyway.

So here at LOGON we represent the Logo Re branding of some of these startup here.

The Big E-Commerce giant Flipkart established by Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal in 2007,has thought of changing their logo in 2015 to only letter F -as denoting "playfulness" and "speed".The company felt  the requirement of changing in their logo to make it more mobile friendly.
The old logo showing the letter 'f' as shopping cart is now replaced with the shopping bag to achieve as in words of their Flipkart, senior director, marketing, Shoumyan Biswas:

"... one, the new identity had to create a positive perception about our brand; two, the logo needed to be more inclusive in its appeal to all our customers and three, given our focus on the mobile platform it had to stand out on the app interface. With our new brand logo, I believe that we have achieved all of these."

Kotak Mahindra Bank

The symbol of the infinite Ka reflects our global Indian personality. The Ka is uniquely Indian while its curve forms the infinity sign, which is universal. One of the basic tenets of economists is that man's needs are unlimited. The infinite Ka symbolises that we have infinite number of ways to meet those needs.

India Post(भारतीय डाक)

The three yellow curved lines on red background , yes here I am talking about the Indian Post logo, which is in reach of even the rural India.
As of 31 March 2011, the Indian Postal Service had 154,866 post offices, of which 139,040 (89.78 percent) were in rural areas; Strange but true; this  government-operated postal system in India was founded on 1 April 1774.
So the logo is here
The new logo created by Ogilvy and Mather unveiled on 23-09-2008 , this logo in first glance seems to be like an envelope.
The new logo has a rectangle in the shape of an envelope in deep red with the image of birds’ wings in bright yellow. Red symbolizes the traditional association with post office, along with passion, power and commitment, while yellow communicates hope, joy and happiness. It sends the message of India Post as a dynamic organization with modern and professional approach in its service to the common man, business and corporate clients.

The old  logo of India Post was designed in 1995 with the help of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

The Golden Ratio

Golden Ratio , the most famous and divine ratio special not only in mathematics but art and aesthetics as well. Talking about historical design perspective without considering the Golden ratio would be worthless. So here I am telling you the design secrets of the world's most famous logos like Apple, Pepsico, BP etc.

Originated at the ancient Greek time the golden ratio  had compelled to all great thinkers of every disciplines to  research and accept the appeal of this number. Golden Number having value equals to 1.6180....  is also related to the Fibonacci Series where the consecutive numbers are in golden ratio i.e. 1.6180....
The use of golden ratio is not having any logical justification in the art world, instead it seems to be aesthetic and pleasant to eyes. Historically from Egyptian pyramid to Parthenon temple the use of this divine ratio in architecture , paintings and music can be seen.

In this mathematical but pleasant logic of art was also applied by the great logo designers of famous brands.  Here are the most famous brands which used the golden ratio in their designs.

Canon

The most famous brand canon actually evolved from a  Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory established back in 1933. In 1934 it produced the Kwanon, a prototype for Japan’s first-ever 35 mm camera with a focal plane based shutter.
The first set of cameras was manufactured as a part of business trial and these early birds were named Kwanon after the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy. Now this Goddess was the possessor of thousand arms and spat flames.
From the very beginning, the company worked with an ambition of reaching out to the outer world and as such the company wanted to adopt a name that will be acceptable globally. With this intention, the company name was changed from Kwanon to Canon and it was registered as the  logo trademark name of the company in the year 1935.

Ubuntu:Ringa Ringa Roses..................

Logo Logo
Ubuntu Logo

On seeing the logo of Ubuntu , it doesn't seem to be much special. But on close inspection we could find that the logo is having three people holding hands in circle. This situation reminded me the nursery rhyme 'Ringa Ringa Roses'. Ubuntu means "an ethic or humanist philosophy focusing on people's allegiances and relations with each other". And the logo is a graphical representation of 3 people holding their arms out, making a circle.

Ohhhhhhhh! It's ' Zinga ' not 'Zynga'

Zynga Logo
Zynga Logo

Now , this time you are going to correct me.If I am talking about the famous gaming site 'Zynga' then it is obviously spelled as 'Zynga' not 'Zinga'. Yes, but here I am talking about the American bulldog of Mark Pincus who named his dog 'Zinga';After whom the founder and first CEO of Zynga 'Mark Pincus' named his company. Mark Pincus started his company in April 2007 under the name Presidio Media; letter this name was changed to Zynga after the dog of Mark Pincus. It is the dog which is behind the logo of the company. A white silhouette of bulldog in red background is thus the inspiration behind the Company logo.
